Hello,

Coaching a U13 Tier 1 team. Unfortunately there is a major mistake made during assessments and one of our goalies is in a caliber that is over its head. He has struggled all season long, and it's at the point where it's clear he doesn't even really want to be in the net most times. I know his dad wants and in this level, and we only have five or six games left in the season.

Besides the emotional well-being of the child, the team is in a very negative spot as we continually outshoot teams, but have failed win a game and over a month. It's 100% due to poor goaltending.

I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced a situation like this where sending a goalie down a level to bring up a better goalie for playoffs makes sense and what the fallout would be.

Good morning if anyone has ever experienced the situation and thoughts on sending a goalie this late in the season down to tier 2, to have one of the better goals come up for playoffs
