B6 - 2-0 x 2 - Pass Wide-Pick D-Take Puck to Middle - U18 M

Key Points:
Move the puck from the middle to the wide lane. Player with the puck in the wide lane drives to the 'Big Ice" between the dots and the player who passed skates in front of the defender making it difficult for him to play the puck carrier. Shoot and both attackers drive the net for a rebound.

Description:

Diagonal corners leave at the same time.

A. Player 1 is on one side with a puck while players 2-3 cut across for a pass.
B 1 pass to 2 in middle and 3 skate wide.
C. 2 pass to 3 who skates into middle lane
D. 2 skate in front of coach
E. 3 take ice behind 2 into middle lane for shot.
F. 2 and 3 drive net for a rebound.

T2 - Continuous - Breakout 4 vs 1 Forechecker - U18 M

Key Points:
A forward dumps the puck in then forechecks while 4 or 5 defenders skate into their zone to break out. Practice breaking out on one side first and then on either side.

Description:
1. One Blue F shoot the puck in and forecheck.
2. Red team race back and break out.
3. Red forward who crosses red line dump puck in.
4. Blue team race red forward back.
5. Blue breakout vs one red forechecker.
6.Continue this 1 on 4 or 5 flow each way.

Key Points:
This passing drill flows end to end. Two players exchange passes skating down the middle lane then pass to either line. The far player cuts to the middle and they attack 3-0 while the next two follow them up ice and repeat at the other end.

Description:
A. 1-2 exchange passes skating down the ice.
B. Pass to 4 who passes to 3 slashing into middle lane.
C. 1-2-3 attack far end and take a shot.
D. 5 srive skate into middle lane and exchnge passes with 4.

T3 - B5 - Lateral Slide - Tail Tag - C U18 W

Key Points:
Start with a lateral slide to keep toe caps toward the puck carrier. Add one or two lateral pushes and load with the outside leg to go the other way. Put sticks on the blue line and play 'Tail Tag' keeping the skate blades on the ice facing opponents using the lateral slide technique.

Description:
1. Latral slide each way.
2. Lateral slide with one or two pushes.
3. Sticks on blue line.
4. Everyone in one zone no sticks.
5. Play 'Tail Tag.'

B600 - Tomas 2-2 NZ RG-Forecheck - U18 M

Key Points:
This is a great video of the Tomas Neutral Zone Continuous Regroup. Tomas Pacina a Czech coach who spent a lot of time in Calgary and has worked with numerous NHL and National teams from various countries. These skills transfer directly to games situations. You can ad D to D, D scissor etc. as well as have 1-3 or 3 F.

Description:

1. D1-D2 pass to F1-F2.
2. F1-F2 regroup with D3-D4.
3. F1-F2 forecheck vx. D3-D4.
4. F3-F4 support D3-D4.
5. D3-D4 make a regroup pass to F3-F4.
6. F3-F4 now regroup with D5-D6 and forecheck.
7. Continue the regroup and forecheck sequence.

* Add dump in, breakout with a low 2-2 where the attackers forecheck to get the puck and score.

* Use one or two D and from one to three F. A great way to practice quick regroups and if you dump the puck in the breakout, forecheck and on the regroup the neutral zone forecheck.

Key Points:
Continuous drill with D hinging and regroup with a supporting F who passes to the other D and then skates into the offensive zone, gets a pass from the coach and shoots.

Description:
1. F1 leave with a puck and pass back to D1.
2. D1 hing with D2.
3. D2 pass up to F1 supporting up ice.
4. F1 pass to D3 and forecheck D3.
5. Coach pass to F1 who skates in for a shot.
6. F2 repeat the other way regrouping with D2-D3.
7. Continue flow of regroup, forecheck, shoot and D rotate taking turns.

Key Points:
Play keepaway in the neutral zone with the first player in each line as Jokers who can pass. Depending how many players are on the ice you can do from 1-1 to 5-5 including odd number situations such as 3-2.

Description:
1. Players line up behind bluelines at dots.
2. One to five players from each team in middle.
3. Coach pass to any player.
4. Protect puck and pass to same colour or front of of your line.
5. On whistle pass to coach or your first player in line.
6. New group play.

B600 - Pass and Replace x 2 - U17 M

Key Points:
Give a target, face the puck, pass and shoot while skating. Call for the puck and attack using linear crossovers. Look for a rebound after you shoot. then circle out and rebound for next shooter or screen and tip.

Description:
A - 1 skate toward middle dot and turn back.
B - 2 pass to 1.
C. 1 skate across and pass to 3.
D - 3 skate to middle lane and pass to 1 on boards.
E - 1 skate in and shoot-rebound.
F - 2 repeat sequence by pass ing to 3 who shoots from the other side.
G - 1 can give and go with 2 or circle out and rebound or screen and tip.

* Finish with good habits and follow the shot for a rebound.

* After shooting the player can screen, circle out and rebound for the nest shooter, give and go with the next shooter.

* Another option is to defend a 1-1 either aggressively of passively with the next shooter.

Key Points:
Warm up passing with a partner skating forward up and down the three lanes and then alternate one skating backward and two forward passing in the three lanes. Pass with quiet one touch wrist passes.

Description:
1. Start at the hash mark and two players skate out.
2. Two players skate down the three lanes exchanging passes.
3. Start at the hash on the other side and three players exchange passes.
4. One player skates backward while the other two skate forward and rotate each lane.

* Option is to do the three lanes twice and start the 3-0 from the same place.

C600 - Neutral Zone Regroup - Attack 3-2 - U15 G

Key Points:
Players line up on each side, blue D with R forwards and at the other end R forwards with B defense. Start by F's weaving thru neutral zone passing and then regroup with their own D. D hinge and pass up to the forwards and follow the play up the ice. Three new forwards follow and regroup with two new D and attack the original D 3-2. Follow this flow end to end.
You need at least 8 D and 12 F for this drill. Use the same flow with less players i.e. Regroup with 2 F and attack 2-1.

Description:
1. Red forwards 1-2-3 weave passing puck thru neutral zone.
2. Red forwards regroup with the red D 1-2.
3. Red D hinge and pass up to the forwards.
4. Red F attack 3-2 vs two blue D.
5. Two new blue D 5-6 steip out.
7. Red D 1-2 follw the attack into Nzone.
8. Three Blue forwards follow and weave thru nzone passing to each other.
9. Blue forwards 4-5-6 regroup with blue D 3-4.

Key Points:
F1 pass to D1 at point who drag and shoots. F1 screen. After the shot F1 skate tow the corner and get a pass from F2. F1-F2 attack 2-1 vs. D1 at both ends
Basic offensive principles of a 2-1. 'One High-One Low - One Fast-One Slow'. Also the puck carrier must always be a threat and whenever possible pass using the forehand.

B4-B600 - D Quick up x 2 – Pass to Coach - Shot - U15 G

Key Points:
D pick up a puck in the circle then pass to a wing on one side, get another puck and pass to a wing on the other side, get a third puck, pivot and pass to a coach in the offensive zone, skate to the point and get the puck back, drag and shoot. Forwards face the puck and give a target. Defense make crisp wrist or snap passes while skating. Forwards focus on keeping the stick blade square to the pass, especially on the backhand.

Description:
1. Forwards at the blue lines and defense in the middle.
2. Defense at each blue line skate forward - get a puck.
3. Forwards from diagonal side skate up to the red line and pivot for a pass.
4. Defense each pass to a forward on the opposite wing.
5. Defense repeat by skating back to the blue line and up to get a new puck.
6. Defense now pass to a second forward who pivots for a pass on the other wing.
7. Forwards skate in and take a shot then follow the shot for a rebound.
8. Defense get a third puck, pivot at the blue line then give and go pass with a coach and take a point shot.
9. First forward screen and second circle back to rebound for the next shooter.

Key Points:
