I have had groups like that and it helped to play passing games. The most effective practice activity I did with a U17 team was to play full ice with the rule there had to be at least ONE pass in EACH zone. It worked miracles with that group.

Another good one, that I got from this site is the 3 Zone Scrimage. Where you have 2 teams divided into 3 groups, one for each zone. Each group must remain in their zone.
The puck is advanced from each zone by passing to a teammate in the adjacent zone. On a turnover the puck goes the opposite way. Players can rotate zones after goals.

How do I teach hustle to my pee wee players? They insist on trying to carry the puck from end-to-end slowing down in the neutral zone. They never head-man the puck. There is no speed to back-check or fore-check. Help!!!! I'm getting gray hair.
