Physical Training for Children and Youth by Magnus Havelid and Ulf Engman
This is an article by Swedish coaches Havelid and Engman on safe and effective methods of training youth hockey players especially in the 'Golden Years' of 9-14.
I just received these jerseys from the former captain of Turkey. They offered me a coaching position last season and Deniz came to Calgary last November.
Here are 5 hockey articles for coaches and one Swedish Documentary on Soviet hockey with a video below it. I also have put in a link to a rare video of the Soviets doing their off ice training outside in a tennis court.

Eric, I tried them and they opened. It is a wmv file.
This is a drill booklet by Tomas Pacina. Tomas is from the Czech Republic and has lived in Calgary since 1997 or so. Tomas coaches many NHL players in private lessons and is an NHL skills coach working with teams like the Rangers and Montreal.
I do lots of reading but not enough posting. Want to thank Tom and the others that share on the site.
Found this online. Some good drills for developing defenseman. Presented by NCAA Coach from North Dakota Brad Berry
I don't think there is anyone else crazy enough to attend all of he hockey courses and seminars as I have. Maybe Kevin Sullivan in Boston. It is close.
I have been attending since 1977 when George Kingston who was Dean of PE at the U of Calgary brought international coaches to give a summer class that you could take for credit or edit. I took it for credit and then edited it for 9 summers. Two weeks, six evenings a week for 40 hours each. I also attended all of the Hockey Canada symposiums that they put on every second year. The first four or five were in Calgary and then they rotated the five hockey regions from Wes to East coast. I have also attended the IIHF symposiums in Finland 3 times, Quebed City, Vienna, Heidelburg and maybe some I have forgotten about.
They gave out handouts at each of these until recently when they started just giving the ppoint outline.
So I am trying to say I have a lot of printed material stored that I want to digitize and then chuck out.. My scanner has an automatic feed so I am going to copy the material over the next year and put it on my sky drive where anyone who wants to use the material for research or information can access it.I am sure I have the only copy of some of the stuff.
I will post links on this thread as I get them ready. It is a bit of a process to do. Takes three steps. So it will take time.
I am sure I will find some gems that I can use in the upcoming season.
