C3 Breakout and 1-1 then Regroups

D get pass and drive behind net and make a breakout pass then close gap on the player attacking from the other side and play a 1-1. Add a regroup and the forward goes back and D skate to keep a close gap.

C3 Rejo Breakout and 1-1

Shoot from the point, exchange the puck with attacker making a breakout pass and then play 1-1 vs the attacker on the other side. Done from both ends.

Rejo 1-1 Gap Control

Attacker and defender both skate from the middle back to their blueline and then the attacker turns and goes 1-1 vs defender. It is done on both sides of the ice. Could do up to a 2-2.

C3, 1-1 from the Blueline

Defender pass to a player at the blueline and then close the gap to play a 1-1.

B600 Timing and 1-1

D passes to a forward who times to be open when D gets his eyes up. D now plays a 1-1 on the other side of the ice.

B5 Forecheck Skills Deflect-Steer-Angle-Finish

Players practice creating a good checking angle. Deflect play outside, steer to wall, approach at the back shoulder and finish the check with the stick on the puck and body on body.

B500 Defensive Skating with Stick on the Puck

Players are in pairs all over the ice and take turns mirroring an offensive partner with their sticks on the ice and on the puck.
